Meet the Llamas & Alpacas

Llama
Mary
DOB: 06/09/2023
Mary was named after First Lady Mary Lincoln and Kris' grandmother. She is the youngest llama on the farm. Mary's mother is Eleanor and her grandmother is Spring Kiss. She has an adorable birthmark on her front leg that's shaped like a heart. Her personality is a lot like her mother's. She's quite curious and confident. Her fiber is silky smooth and she's still quite playful.

Llama
Conswala
DOB: 09/03/2005
Conswala is sweet, quirky and playful, with a special twinkle in her eye. She has earned the title of Registered Therapy Llama through Pet Partners, and enjoys visiting schools, businesses, homes, and senior living facilities. Conswala was a finalist in the Cadbury Bunny national contest and has become fairly well known as a result of that experience. She thinks she's a pretty 'big deal' and is certainly a farm favorite.

Llama
Jacqueline ("Jackie")
DOB: 07/13/2019
Jackie is a beautiful silver llama, named after First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. She and Eleanor share the same Dad. Jackie moved onto our farm when she was 1 year old and we are so happy that she became a part of our herd. She is shy and demure. She loves to watch the action and go for long walks in the park, but she'd prefer to keep her distance from our guests.

Llama
Verana
DOB: 06/04/2016
Verana is big, confident, and a leader among the llamas. She is our tallest llama and weighs in at 420 pounds. As a young first-time mom, she gave birth to Rossalyn in the middle of the night (which is unusual) and to our delight, has demonstrated stellar maternal instincts. Doting and protective, she and Rossalyn are never far apart.

Llama
Eleanor Grace ("Ellie")
DOB: 06/03/2019
Eleanor Grace was the very first animal born on Lucky Us Farm and she is our miracle cria (baby). Her mama llama, Kiss, had a pregnancy complication resulting in a C-section delivery on the farm. She was named after Kris' mom and Eleanor Roosevelt, starting off our farm-naming-theme of Presidents and First Ladies. She is our head guard llama and takes her job seriously, feeling the need to inspect guests as they arrive. She can be quite intimidating, but don't worry, so far everybody has passed her inpection. She is also the proud mama llama to Mary and is a very doting mama.

Llama
Spring Kiss ("Kiss")
DOB: 04/09/2005
Kiss is the oldest animal on the farm. She moved to our farm in 2018 when she was pregnant with Eleanor. Due to a pregnancy complication she delivered Eleanor via a C-section birth on our farm. It was scary and exciting and we are so happy to say that the delivery had a happy and ending! In fact, she is now the Grandmother to Mary! She is a resilient and stoic llama who is ready to enjoy her senior years on the farm.

Llama
Rosalynn ("Rozzy")
DOB: 06/25/2019
Rosalynn is the second animal born on Lucky Us Farm and her birth came three weeks after the complicated delivery of Eleanor. Luckily Rozzy's birth to Verana went as smoothly as could be. Named after Rosalynn Carter, Rozzy is calm and quiet and quite the 'Mama's Girl'. Although she and Eleanor grew up together, Rozzy prefers to hang out with her Mama, Verana, and the two are rarely far apart from each other.

Alpaca
Lucia
DOB: 08/01/2014
Lucia has always been sugar and spice and everything nice. She has been the official greeter of visitors and our top model in photo shoots. Unfortunately Lucia has developed early onset arthritis in her back hips, which has left her quite uncomfortable and not as social. We give her medicine and supplements to manage her discomfort, but sadly she isn't the social butterfly that she used to be. She still enjoys time with the herd and never is late to dinner. We still love her pretty face and big heart.

Alpaca
Olivia
DOB: 06/26/2014
Olivia is sweet and calm and always looks like she's daydreaming about green clovers and rainbows. We're convinced she's the only one who knows about a special 'happy crop' growing in a secluded part of the pasture. She is the proud Mama to both Teddy and Grover.

Alpaca
Calisay ("Cali")
DOB: 05/08/2008
Cali was born on our farm before we owned it, sold to another farm, and then we bought her back. We are so happy that she has returned to her home. She is the mama to Betty. On any given Sunday, Cali will either be front and center begging for attention, or quietly eating grass in the back of the pack hoping that you take no notice to her.

Alpaca
Betty
DOB: 08/26/2021
Betty was the first alpaca born on our farm. She was named after First Lady, Betty Ford. Her mama is Calisay. Betty is quite a social butterfly and loves to visit with our guests. Beware, she's a shoe nibbler! I'm not sure what the appeal is, but she loves to nibble on the toes of our visitor's shoes.

Alpaca (Cria)
Grover
DOB: 06/07/2024
Grover was named after President Grover Cleveland. He is the youngest member of our herd. His mom is Olivia and his full brother is Teddy. His fiber is so curly and we love the little white spots on his forehead and right leg. We sure hope that he grows up to be as sweet at Teddy! And we can't wait to watch the friendship he builds with Quincy.

Alpaca (Cria)
Quincy
DOB: 05/31/2024
Quincy was named after President John Quincy Adams. His mom is Rum Chata and his big sister is Louisa. His distinct facial marking sure came as a surprise, as did his early birthday! Can you tell that his face is black and his rump has several shades of brown? This little guy is a real live wire and we can't wait to watch him grow!

Alpaca
Teddy
DOB: 09/17/2022
Teddy was named after President Theodore Roosevelt. His mom is Olivia and he is the big brother to Grover, who almost looks like his twin. If you look closely, he has a white spot on his neck and leg. Kris loves to weave with his fiber since it is so soft and dense, He is cute as a button and loves to go for walks. He is often sweet as can be and wants your attention. But most recently he has become an occasional spitter. Hopefully just a teenager stage!

Alpaca
Honey
DOB: 10/15/2006
Honey, like Gloria, is a Suri Alpaca. She and Gloria even have the same birthday, but they are not related to each other. At a glance, they look quite similar, but look more closely and you will notice many differences. Honey used to be extremely social, but in the past year she has become a bit more shy. Honey is owned by the Tawney Family: Brittany, Jason, Lucy, and Jackson.

Alpaca
Gloria
DOB: 10/15/2006
Gloria, like Honey, is a different type of alpaca than others, as you can tell by her straight fiber. She is a Suri Alpaca. Suri alpacas are pretty rare. Their fiber is quite silky, but it isn't as warm in the winter as the other alpacas, which is why Gloria and Honey wear coats in the winter. Gloria is owned by Irene and Marion.

Alpaca
Rum Chata
DOB: 09/30/2019
Rum Chata aka 'Rummy' was purchased from a farm in Western, PA and moved her to Lucky Us Farm in 2020. Rummy fit right in with our herd and quickly made new friends. Her color is considered "Bay Black," but if you look closely, you'll see a little white spot at the top of her tail. Rummy is the mama to two cria, Louisa and Quincy. Even though both of her cria have the same mother and father, you'd never know it by looking at them as one is black and the other is white. Alpaca genetics sure are interesting!

Alpaca
Louisa
DOB: 08/25/2022
Louisa is the daughter to Rum Chata and the sister to Quincy. She was named after First Lady Louisa Adams. Louisa has some of the softest fiber of the herd so be sure to feel her softness if you get a chance! She's also the most adventurous eater of the herd and loves to munch on snacks of apples and carrots! Her nose is always scuffed and I can't figure out what she is rubbing it on. If you can solve the mystery, please let me know!

Alpaca
Sprinkle Pie
DOB: 03/04/2008
In February 2025 we rescued ten alpacas who desperately needed a new home. Working with the Southeast Llama Rescue, we were able to rehome 8 of them and we adopted 2 of them! Sprinkle Pie is one of these rescues and we are so happy that she will be spending her golden years as a valuable member of our herd. And we received exciting news that she is expecting a cria this year! When? Now that is a surprise that we can't wait to discover! Stay tuned!

Alpaca
Maple
DOB: 08/23/2022
In February 2025 we rescued ten alpacas who desperately needed a new home. Working with the Southeast Llama Rescue, we were able to rehome 8 of them and we adopted 2 of them! Maple is one of the alpacas that we adopted from this rescued herd. We couldn't resist her sweet smile and beautiful color. She is a Suri alpaca, with straight silky fiber. If you get a chance, be sure to compare the feel of her fiber to the other alpacas!
