Come and Trek with the llamas at Lucky Us Farm to raise money for the nonprofit organization, Southeast Llama Rescue (SELR)!  

The SELR mission is to protect the quality of life and improve the well being of abused, neglected, unwanted and behaviorally unmanageable llamas and alpacas through prevention, education, intervention, placement and lifelong care. SELR is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization incorporated in North Carolina.  Due to the pandemic, their fundraising efforts have taken a great hit and we would love to support an organization that cares so much about the same animals that we do!

When you click on the link above for the Southeast Llama Rescue, you'll be redirected to the Southeast Llama Rescue website to make your purchase.  For a $45 donation you'll receive a ridiculously cute Tshirt, Walking Bib, and medal from their organization!   Then come on out to Lucky Us Farm on 11/22/20 at 11:00am and take a walk with us and our llamas!

How Far:  Even though this is considered a '5K' trek, in reality it will be closer to a 2 mile trek on beautiful farmland and uneven surfaces. 

How to register:  Enter the number of 'Tickets' that you would like to reserve.  Then click on this link: Southeast Llama Rescue ,which will redirect you to the Southest Llama Rescue site where you can purchase your 5K Llama Trek Tshirt, Medal, and Bib for a $45 donation to their organization.  All are welcome to participate, but only those participants 12 years or older wearing their SELR Llama Trek Tshirt may walk a llama.

Ages:  Must be at least 12 years old to walk a llama.  

Llamas:  Ellie, Rosalynn, Jacqueline, Conswala, Verana

What to wear:   Your SELR Llama Trek Tshirt!  (you might need to wear it over/under a sweatshirt), sturdy shoes (appropriate for uneven surfaces and possibly wet surfaces if recent rain), a mask.

How it works:  We will be walking 5 llamas and will likely have more people than llamas, so the participants wearing their Tshirts will take turns walking the llamas. We will all walk together as a group, being mindful of social distancing.  It is encouraged that all people in attendance purchase a Tshirt to support the Southest Llama Rescue, but if you want to bring a friend to walk along beside you who did not register, the more the merrier!  Please remember that only those participants wearing a SELR Llama Trek Tshirt who are at least 12 years of age can walk a llama.  And also note that it is not encouraged to bring young children due to the distance and the terrain. 

Cancellation: In the event of inclement weather, you will be notified that this event has been cancelled.   The good news is that you will have made a valuable donation to an incredible non profit organization and will receive a super cute Tshirt, metal and bib.  There will be no refunds offered, however we will attempt to reschedule our walk in the Spring of 2021.
