We're on the road from Sheep to Shawl!  Our 5-person team will be competing in the show-stopping Sheep to Shawl competition at the PA Farm Show on 1/8/25!  In preparation, we'll be giving this public demonstration on our farm where we'll start with a raw alpaca fleece (freshly shorn) and will create a gorgeous 78" alpaca shawl within 2.5 hours!  (at the Farm Show competition, we'll be starting with an unshorn sheep and will use all sheep wool.  For this farm demonstration, we will be starting with an alpaca fleece and will use all alpaca wool)  Can we do it? Can I weave under pressure?  It sure will be great practice for my team! We'll put our skills and speed to the test as we card the fiber, spin the fiber and then weave the fiber into a gorgeous shawl!   Our finished shawl will then be auctioned off online!

This demonstration will be emceed by a knowledgeable fiber enthusiast who will be explaining the many steps involved in this process.  It's an awesome opportunity to stop out to the farm, learn a little bit about fiber arts, gain an understanding of the 'behind the scenes' of a Sheep to Shawl contest AND cheer on our team as we take on this tremendous challenge!    Of course the alpacas and llamas would love it if you'd stick around and say hello to the herd!
