Meet the Flock

Petunia
Petunia and Poppy are twins and they share the same birthdate as Kris! (3/13) They were rescued from a farm in MD, as they were slated to be sent to the butcher since they had an undesirable genetic eyelid condition (entropion) and could not be bred. We are so glad that Petunia can live out the rest of her life, loved and appreciated, on the farm.

Poppy
Poppy is a rockstar as she was the sheep that Kris and her team, Sheep Thrills, took to the PA Farm show for the Sheep to Shawl competition in 2025! Poppy and Petunia are twins and share the same birthdate as Kris (3/13). Like Petunia, Poppy was rescued from a trip to the butcher, as she also has an undesirable genetic eyelid condition and should not be bred.

Merino
Magnolia
Magnolia aka 'Maggie' was purchased from Black Sheep Farm in VA. Even though she's a beautiful pecan color on the surface, if you part her fiber you'd be surprised to see that her fiber is as black as her face. Kris plans to blend Maggie's fiber with Louisa's (alpaca) to weave luxurious scarves and shawls.

Merino
Woolly
Woolly is the senior sheep on the farm. She was born in 2016. She is owned by Magdelena of Lena Knitting who is bording Woolly at Lucky Us Farm. Magdelena is a professional knitter who plans to knit an exclusive line of products from Woolly's exquisite fiber!

Begonia
Begonia is a strikingly beautiful sheep. In full fleece she is quite rotund with fiber thick as fog. Just like Magnolia, Begonia has a faded pecan color on the outside, but when you part those fibers, you'll see a rich black fiber color underneath. Begonia is quite bold and friendly and appreciates nose and chin scratches.

Merino
Mum
Mum is a happy old soul. She was born in 2020 and is quite sweet and easy going. Her fiber is dense and crimpy and oh so soft! Kris will use her fiber to make either 100% Merino yarn, and/or will blend it with Olivia's (alpaca) fiber to made a luxurious blend.

Buttercup
Buttercup is just a few days older than Poppy and Petunia. DOB 3/8/24. She was a triplet, but her sisters didn't join her on the farm. She is cute and curious and wants to investigate everything she can see and reach. Her fiber is lovely, but not as soft as the Merino's fiber. Kris will likely use her fiber to make soft and stable rugs. It will be fun to dye her white fiber into beautiful colors!
